Eye tracking for groups: every participant, on one timeline.

Most eye-tracking studies record one person at a time. Ergoneers’ Prophea.X records several participants at once, each with their own gaze, synchronised with video, audio, physiology and simulator data. That makes real group studies possible: teams, crews, classrooms and co-drivers.

01 · Group studies

People rarely look alone. Now you can measure them together.

When several participants share a task, the interesting behaviour is between them: who looks where first, who follows whom, and when attention is shared or lost. Recording each person separately and stitching the data together afterwards is slow and error-prone. Prophea.X records them together.

Shared attention

Who saw it, and who followed

See where each participant was looking at the same moment, in shared or separate visual spaces, and how attention passes from one person to another.

Collaboration

Teams and crews

Pilot and co-pilot, driver and passenger, surgeon and assistant: analyse interpersonal dynamics and collaboration patterns, not just individual gaze.

Comparison

Many participants, one session

Run comparative studies with several participants in the same session, so everyone experiences identical conditions and timing.

Control rooms

Operators under load

Multi-operator control rooms and simulators, where safety depends on who is watching which display.

Education

Classrooms and training

Classroom engagement and group training, measured across the whole group rather than one learner at a time.

Consumers

Group and social studies

Shopper, product and usability studies where people decide together, as they do in real life.

02 · How Prophea.X does it

One recording for the whole group.

Prophea.X builds on Ergoneers’ earlier D-Lab software. It runs on Windows 11 and is licensed in tiers by the number of inputs you record.

Record

Prophea Data Engine

Captures gaze from multiple participants at once, with real-time monitoring for each subject, and automatically synchronises it with video, audio, biometrics and simulator inputs.

TiersLite, Standard (7), Extended (20), Unlimited
InterfacesTCP/IP, UDP, LSL, CAN, ROS2

Analyse

Prophea eye

Event-optimised timelines and project AOIs identified automatically across all participants in 3D, with more than 30 metrics, from time to first glance to AOI attention ratio, and gaze metrics to ISO 15007.

Live and after

Live view, deep analysis

Watch every participant live during the session for immediate feedback, then analyse the full group afterwards.

Automate

Prophea autorecog

AI object and pattern recognition that finds what participants looked at without placing AOI markers in the scene.

Integrate

Prophea API

Connect your own simulators, vehicles, devices and tools through the API and SDK.

Support

Existing D-Lab users

Ergoneers still supports D-Lab, including on Windows 11. We can advise on moving studies to Prophea.X.

03 · Working with Tobii

Several Tobii Pro Glasses 3, in one synchronised study.

Ergoneers lists Tobii Pro Glasses 3 as a plug-and-play device for the Prophea Data Engine and Prophea eye, and names Tobii among its sensor partners. Each participant wears their own Tobii glasses; Prophea.X brings them together.

Why pair them. Tobii Pro Glasses 3 gives research-grade gaze with raw data for each person. Prophea.X puts every participant on one timeline with the video, physiology and simulator data, so group behaviour can be analysed in hours rather than weeks of manual alignment.

04 · Also built for vehicles

Vehicle and simulator data, in the same file.

Ergoneers grew up in automotive human factors, and lists Audi, BMW, Jaguar Land Rover, Volkswagen, Airbus and Bosch among its clients since 2005.

Automotive

HMI and driver distraction

Glance duration and frequency to ISO 15007 for infotainment, displays and controls, in the car or the simulator.

Simulators

Triggered by the scenario

Simulator streams captured live over TCP/IP, CAN or ROS, with markers and events triggered by simulator state.

Automated driving

Take-over and co-driving

How driver and co-driver watch the road, and re-engage, when automation hands back control.

05 · Questions

Before you specify.

Can Prophea.X record several participants at once?

Yes. Multi-subject recording is the core of Prophea.X: gaze from several participants is captured in parallel, monitored live for each person, and synchronised with video, audio, physiology and simulator data on one timeline.

Does it work with Tobii eye trackers?

Yes. Ergoneers lists Tobii Pro Glasses 3 as a plug-and-play device for the Prophea Data Engine and Prophea eye. Ergoneers also states support for Tobii screen-based systems in multi-subject studies; tell us your set-up and we will confirm it.

How are AOIs handled across a group?

Prophea eye identifies project AOIs automatically across all participants in 3D, so the same areas of interest apply to everyone without coding each recording by hand.

We use D-Lab. Do we have to switch?

No. Ergoneers still supports D-Lab, including on Windows 11. Prophea.X builds on D-Lab, and we can help you plan a move when it suits your programme.

How is Prophea.X licensed?

By the number of synchronised inputs: Lite, Standard (7 inputs), Extended (20) and Unlimited. A group study needs more inputs, so we size it to your participants and sensors.
